Review Sony Xperia M4 Aqua specifications and feature

Review Sony Xperia M4Aqua  specifications and feature - Sony Xperia M2 Aqua was released last year The new generation, Sony Xperia M4 Aqua, strives to preserve the beautiful design and waterproof capability I haven't got it yet. Not that it's still in store but my friend took it for a swim. Let's get it! This is a mid-range smartphone from Sony but the design is very similar to Xperia Z3+, makes it hard to tell the difference when placed side by side The shiny back side of M4 Aqua is quite similar to Xperia Z3+ but made from different material.

Sony chose to use plastic material for M4 Aqua rather than glass to make it lighter. The M4 Aqua and Z3+ share two ratings in common, IP65 (dust) and IP68 (water spalshes and submersion) What's new is both audio jack and micro USB port left capless but still water resistant only microSD and nano-SIM slot have cap for protection from water. Unlike most Android smartphones, M4 Aqua only has one nano SIM slot. Overall, M4 Aqua design is nearly identic to Z3+.

Xperia M4 Aqua and Z3+ was launched simultaneously last June in Indonesia no doubt that the phone was shipped with Android Lollipop 5.0 There's not much to talk about the user interface since all menu and interface are the same as any other Xperia smartphones. But the Album (formerly known as Music) menu has slightly different and more friendly now.

You can choose from more than 20 theme to personalize this phone via the Settings menu some of them are free but some are not. The Small Apps feature is very handy to run several apps like calculator, browser, calendar and e-mail simultaneously. We really love the screen recording capability of the new Xperia UI that helps a lot when we want to make a tutorial video. In side by side comparison, Xperia M4 Aqua display is more yellowish than Xperia Z3+ despite of the same IPS panel used by both phones. The absence of Triluminos in M4 Aqua may cause this difference.

Some white balance adjustments in Display Settings can add more white to the display M4 Aqua is a mid-range phone armed with Snapdragon 615 octa core 1.5GHz CPU and 2GB RAM and two options of internal storage, 8GB and 16GB. Note that we use the 8GB unit in this review with less than 4GB space to install apps and store data. Luckily, there's a microSD slot available. M4 Aqua is more than enough for social media and gaming needs proven with AnTuTu 5.7.1 benchmark score 33857 points.

Playing games like Goat Simulator and Xenowerk is not a big deal but playing more than 20 minutes will make its back side quite hot, up to 50 degree celsius. In this case, using a casing is very handy. Even though it has 2400 mAh battery, it's not really that durable with Screen-On time around 3.5 hours, much less than Z3+ 5 hours Screen-On time. Physically and positionally, M4 Aqua main camera is very similar to Z3+ the same thing goes within the photo mode, such as Superior Auto to Manual.

With around US$300 price tag, M4 Aqua performance is not really matching the price a bit facelift in design makes it equal with high end smartphone like Xperia Z3+. The IP68 waterproof is the only real bargain for this phone compare to others in its class.
